““This sound like some Fred Hampton / This sound like some Nirvana.” On his XTRA UGLY mixtape, DUCKWRTH has no fucks left to give and it is glorious.” — AFROPUNK
In 2016, Duckwrth, born Jared Lee, released his critically acclaimed debut album titled "I'M UUGLY". "I'M UUGLY" featured stand out tracks like "I'M DEAD" featuring Sabrina Claudio and powerful visuals for songs like "RARE PANTHER/BEACHHOUSE" and "GET UUGLY". "I'M UUGLY" was the start of a buzz that achieved praises from and put him on the radar of tastemakers like The Fader, Highsnobiety, Mass Appeal, Complex, I-D Mag and more. Comparing his style, aesthetic and refreshing approach to music to the likes of N.E.R.D., Freddie Mercury and The System.
DUCKWRTH's recently released project, an XTRA UUGLY Mixtape, vows to take this vision a step further by blending genres from rock to hip hop to funk and soul and incorporating live elements from guitars to violins. What started as just an accumulation of demos he started while working on his previous release is quickly proving to be more than just a few leftover tracks sitting on his hard drive. It is a legitimate body of work that caught the interest of Republic Records and has already gained the attention of new fans around the world. In the short time since its release, its tracks are already proven to be a synch fave with placements in Real Time with Bill Maher, EA Games' Need for Speed and prime time television shows.

"...DUCKWRTH continues to evade easy categorization, calling to mind the artistry of such modern genre-blenders as Anderson .Paak and even Frank Ocean (not a comparison made lightly!)" — Ones To Watch
